Some records say he was born in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, Wales and died Jan 29, 1700. Andrew and his brother David were in Scotland from 1640-49, likely in the King's army. Afterw ard David sailed to America from Liverpool. Andrew and Elizabeth settled in Kent and then sho rtly afterward migrated to America. In 1650, they arrived in Portsmouth, New England. As he h ad become a Quaker, this is probably present-day Rhode Island. They were "well-educated" an d he maintained a friendship with William Penn. |
